When I stepped into this space, it was all void and formless, the challenge was to give it a fabulous look using some old furniture and fusing it with some new items. I had to ensure all this was done at a very affordable cost as I was to work within budget.
The paint was all plain and boring, the type that gives you no memory to want to return home. I got to work on it; added purple and black stripe wall paper to the focal point, on the passage walls which lead to the rooms, I painted orange, yellow, lilac and white. The passage reflects a bit on the living room, so the colour combo fused together to give a colorful and beautiful look.
The next item was the floor, it had a fabulous tile. Since the chair was black, I used black and white persian rug, to bring in a black and white theme look, which stood out.
To the black leather settees I changed the throw pillow colours to bright colours which reflects on the wall colours. This boosted the concept, nothing beats well coordinated colours in a room.
Other items introduced were: Chandeliers, Sit Out chairs, Decor mirror/cursor stand, Dining shelves, Wall frames/Picture frames etc. At the end of it, we achieved a functional contemporary interior which works well for the Nigerian home and new trends. Check out more photos below:
